Overheard in First Grade

A few years ago, I came across a hilarious website known as Overheard in New York. It is still hilarious and its popularity has created hundreds of spin-offs like Overheard at the Beach, Overheard at the Office, and Overheard at pretty much any major university you can name. And now I present to you: Overheard in First Grade.

Teacher: Has anyone ever been to New York City?
First Grader (excitedly): I’ve been to Party City!!

First Grader (to classmate): Stop smelling me!!

Teacher: …but we all know that animals can’t talk.
First Grader (very concerned): But on Christmas can they?!

Teacher: You will have a substitute tomorrow, his name is Mr. Coleman
First Grader: Is that a boy??

Teacher: Why is it important not to run in the hallways?
First Grader: Because you could slip on a banana peel!

Teacher: If you plant a bulb in the yard, what will it grow into?
First Grader: A light??
